Westmoreland County Community College, also known as WCCC or 3 C's, is a community college found in Youngwood, Pennsylvania. The school was established in 1970, during a time where community colleges were prevalent in the state. The school was located on the suburban area that was designed to attract students from Monongahela Valley, which was a booming industrial region, and the Westmoreland County suburb of Pittsburgh. WCCC has also expanded to provide their services to the residents of Armstrong, Fayette, Somerset, Greene, and Indiana Counties.
The main campus of Westmoreland County Community has four main buildings. These buildings are Science Hall, Founders Hall, Commissioners Hall, and the Business and Industry Center. The school offers 54 associate degrees, including 48 certificate programs that are available for all enrolled students. The college also offers Continuing Education courses for adults, displaced workers, non-traditional students and even college for kids. The school offers a transfer program that allows students to continue their associate degrees with other 4-year colleges and universities to earn a 4-year degree.
Aside from the four main buildings located in the main campus, WCCC has also expanded into several satellite locations found in other areas. These locations including the Public Safety Training Center in Smithton, the Bushy Run Education Center in Export, the New Kensington Education Center in New Kensington, the Fayette County Education Center in Uniontown, the Mon Valley Education Center in Belle Vernon, the Greene County Education Center in Waynesburg, the Laurel Education Center in Latrobe, and the Indiana County Community College Center in Indiana. In 2008, an education center was established in New Kensington to match a facility in Rostraver Township, which has been active a long time.
